Manu Jain Leaves Xiaomi After Nine Years

 

Noida — Xiaomi Global Vice President Manu Kumar Jain Monday announced his departure from the group, after a nine-year association with the company. In a social media statement, Jain stated he would take a break before pursuing his next professional opportunity.

"These last nine years were truly phenomenal and I will forever cherish the love and support I have received from fans, partners, team members, and friends. I am lucky to have experienced something so special that it makes saying this goodbye very hard," Jain said.

Jain joined Xiaomi in 2014 and held various positions, including India Regional Managing Director (2014-2017) and President of the Indian Subcontinent Region.

Jain is proud of several achievements during his time at Xiaomi, including: being the number one smartphone brand in India without advertising; receiving investment from Mr. Tata; being a small part of the Make-in-India revolution with 100% of smartphones and smart TVs made in India; and creating over 50,000 jobs in India through the company's growth. He also mentions meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a proud moment.

 Talking about his future plans he said he is a builder at heart and desires to construct something new, preferably in a new industry. He expressed pride in having been a small part of the constantly growing startup community twice and hopes to return to it with a fulfilling new challenge.
