Honeywell Technologies on Thursday launched its first future-ready STEM education and school transformation program under its flagship education and skilling initiative, Saksham, with an ambitious plan to benefit more than 12,000 students across India by 2029.
The initiative was inaugurated by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at the Shalimar Bagh Village Government Girls Senior Secondary School, where Honeywell has introduced modern learning infrastructure aimed at strengthening STEM education, digital literacy, teacher development and student well-being.

Under the program, Honeywell Technologies plans to transform 12 government and government-aided girls’ schools across Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune and Gurugram. Nearly 5,000 students are expected to benefit in Delhi alone, with interventions planned across schools in Mehrauli, Tughlakabad and Shalimar Bagh. The company also plans to expand the initiative to a government school in Janakpuri during FY2026-27.
Speaking at the inauguration, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the transformation of the Shalimar Bagh school demonstrates how collaboration between government and industry can improve public education.
“It is heartening to see Shalimar Bagh Village Government Girls Senior Secondary School transformed into one of Delhi’s finest government schools. With smart classrooms, a computer lab, a STEM lab and an AI-enabled toilet block for our daughters through Honeywell Technologies’ Saksham initiative, this school is now setting a benchmark for future-ready learning,” she said.
She added that meaningful partnerships between the government and society are essential for building better educational institutions and expanding opportunities for young girls.
Ashish Modi, President, India and Asia Pacific, Honeywell Technologies, said the initiative is aimed at preparing India’s future workforce by improving access to quality education and technology-enabled learning.
“Building India’s future workforce starts with expanding access to quality education and providing basic infrastructure. Through Saksham, we are bringing STEM labs, digital access and experiential learning to our young students. The intervention at Shalimar Bagh school is symbolic of our effort to expand opportunities for the students and strengthen India’s pipeline of future-ready talent,” Modi said.
The school transformation program is being implemented in partnership with Ladli Foundation Trust and combines infrastructure upgrades with teacher training and experiential learning opportunities.
At the Shalimar Bagh school, the intervention includes STEM laboratories for hands-on science and technology education, digital ICT and computer labs, smart classrooms, improved water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) infrastructure, and AI-enabled toilet facilities. Students will also participate in awareness sessions on menstrual hygiene, nutrition, cyber safety, financial literacy and reproductive health.
As part of the initiative, 60 teachers will receive training in digital tools and interactive teaching methodologies to improve classroom learning outcomes.
The program also offers an international learning opportunity, with five students from participating schools to be selected for an immersive Space Science workshop at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
Honeywell said the initiative seeks to address persistent gaps in access to digital education and STEM learning in India. According to NITI Aayog’s School Education System in India report, more than one-third of schools lack access to computers or internet connectivity, while nearly 70 percent do not have smart classrooms.
Implemented through Honeywell Hometown Solutions India Foundation (HHSIF), the company’s philanthropic arm in India, Saksham aims to improve educational equity by combining modern learning infrastructure, teacher capacity building and experiential learning opportunities, particularly for adolescent girls from underserved communities.
