Contentstack Concludes Techsurf 2025 — Empowering India’s Next-Gen Developers through Innovation, Mentorship and Opportunity

ContentstackContentstack, the headless CMS pioneer and category disruptor in digital experiences, successfully concluded Techsurf 2025, the fifth edition of its flagship national hackathon. Hosted this year on EdQuest, India’s fastest-growing AI-native talent discovery and skill-building platform, Techsurf 2025 became a transformative arena where India’s brightest young developers turned learning into leadership.

Over two months of challenges, mentorship and innovation, Techsurf 2025 gathered participation and interest from students across India, each bringing unique perspectives and creativity to real-world engineering problems. Six hundred three students earned Contentstack 101 Certifications, marking their first step into the world of composable technology and modern software development.

“Every edition of Techsurf reaffirms our belief in why we invest in nurturing the next generation of innovators,” said Vasu Kothamasu, SVP and Global Head of Engineering at Contentstack. “The creativity, discipline and curiosity these students bring are extraordinary. It’s not just about writing code, it’s about building thinkers, problem solvers and leaders who will shape the future of technology.”

A Journey From Learners to Leaders

This year’s hackathon unfolded in multiple phases, each testing deeper layers of technical acumen and creative problem-solving. After completing the Contentstack 101 course, students faced a series of increasingly complex challenges designed to simulate real-world engineering scenarios.

From hundreds of participants, eighty-eight finalists reached the third and final evaluation round, where their prototypes were reviewed by a panel of judges for innovation, functionality and impact. From this highly competitive pool of exceptional talent, only four were declared winners, making a Techsurf win a true badge of distinction:

  • Winner: Hemant Kadam
  • 1st Runner-Up: Anurag Singh
  • 2nd Runner-Up: Yash Chavan
  • 3rd Runner-Up: Anjali Gupta

“Every year we see strong engineering talent, but this time, the depth of product thinking truly stood out,” said Suvish Thoovamalayil, Director of Engineering and Dean of Techsurf 2025, who co-hosted the LinkedIn Live finale from Contentstack’s official handle alongside Vasu Kothamasu. “Many participants went beyond solving problems. They built solutions that were thoughtful, impactful and ready for the real world.”

The winning projects stood out not only for their technical depth but also for the clarity of thought and storytelling behind each solution, showcasing a rare blend of creativity and execution.

“Now in our second year of hosting TechSurf on EdQuest, we’ve seen how truly transformative accessible opportunities can be,” said Kshitija Katare, Engineering and Product Director at EdQuest. “Students from smaller towns stood shoulder to shoulder with leading tech institutes, proving that when the playing field is open, innovation can come from anywhere.”
