COCO Rides scales to 200+ routes and 16% additional boarding points in Pune within months of launch
App-based employee shuttle platform crosses 22,000 registered users, as city’s office commuters increasingly seek predictable alternatives to public transport and app-based cabs
COCO Rides, the app-based employee shuttle service from RouteMatic, has rapidly expanded its network across Pune within months of its May 2026 launch. Launched in partnership with the Hinjawadi Industries Association (HIA), the service is emerging as a technology-enabled alternative for employees navigating the growing challenges of daily office commutes.
In just 4 months of operations, COCO Rides has grown from an initial network of 500 boarding points to 216+ routes and 16+ additional boarding points across Pune, supported by a fleet of 80+ buses. The platform has crossed 22,000 registered users, with peak daily ridership reaching above 6000. It currently records average 5,000+ daily active users and 7,000+ monthly active users, while average shuttle occupancy stands at 62%.
The growth comes as employees in large employment hubs such as Hinjawadi face increasing challenges with their daily commute. Crowded and unpredictable public transport, rising dependence on app-based cabs, which are marred by surge-charges, and the stress and cost of driving through congested roads are creating demand for more predictable and organised mobility options. COCO Rides offers an alternative through an app-based shared commute model that combines pre-booked seats, fixed routes, scheduled services and predictable fares.
To accommodate employees with flexible office hours, COCO Rides has introduced an afternoon express service. With fewer drop-off points, it helps commuters get home faster when travelling outside peak hours.
The network connects residential neighbourhoods across Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad with the Hinjawadi IT hub, enabling employees of 80+ HIA member companies to pre-book seats and avail predictable commutes on fixed routes and schedules. One-way fares start as low as Rs 100 onwards, while monthly passes offer approximately 32% savings compared with regular daily fares.
Speaking on the platform’s growth, Ankur Krishna, Head – COCO Rides, said: “COCO Rides was launched to address a fundamental challenge faced by office commuters in dense employment hubs like Hinjawadi — making the daily journey to work more reliable, predictable and convenient. We are very encouraged by the response since our launch and, more importantly, by the feedback from commuters who are increasingly looking for a dependable alternative for their daily office commute. The rapid expansion of our network and ridership reinforces our belief that organised employee shuttles can play a meaningful role in how Pune commutes to work. As we scale, our focus is to deepen this network and make shared employee transportation a seamless part of the everyday workday.”
Reliability has been a key part of the service proposition, with COCO Rides maintaining 95%+ on-time performance, including during periods of heavy Pune monsoon rainfall. The platform provides 24×7 live trip monitoring, real-time GPS tracking, SOS and emergency support, and dedicated helpdesk support for commuters.
COCO Rides is currently available to employees of HIA member companies. Employees can download the COCO Rides app, enter their details to register, check available routes and schedules, and pre-book their seats for their daily commute. The service operates on fixed routes and schedules, with reserved seating and fixed fares.
COCO Rides plans to extend its presence to other business parks in Pune, taking organised employee shuttle services to more workplace clusters across the city.
