Google Launches Virtual Try-On Tool For Apparels

New Delhi — Google has unveiled its latest innovation: a revolutionary ‘virtual try-on for apparel’ tool powered by advanced generative artificial intelligence (AI). This cutting-edge technology allows users to visualise garments on a diverse array of authentic models, providing them with the invaluable option to explore different body types.

According to a recent blog post from the tech giant, their newly developed virtual try-on tool on Search empowers users to ascertain the suitability of a particular garment before making a purchase.

“Our new generative AI model can take just one clothing image and accurately reflect how it would drape, fold, cling, stretch and form wrinkles and shadows on a diverse set of real models in various poses. We selected people ranging in sizes XXS-4XL representing different skin tones (using the Monk Skin Tone Scale as a guide), body shapes, ethnicities and hair types,” the post written by Lilian Rincon Senior Director of Product, Shopping regarding the Try On badge said.

Currently, this remarkable feature caters to U.S. shoppers, enabling them to virtually try on women’s tops from acclaimed brands available on Google, including Anthropologie, Everlane, H&M, and LOFT. Seamlessly integrating into the user experience, all it takes is a simple tap on products bearing the Try On badge on Search, followed by the selection of a model that genuinely reflects their own unique characteristics.
