BRICS CCI WE WISE: Women in Innovation, Science & Entrepreneurship- Global Initiative to Drive Gender Equity in STEM and Enterprise Unveiled

The Women Empowerment Vertical of The BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BRICS CCI WE), a not-for-profit dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship, trade and business across BRICS+ and partner countries has unveiled BRICS CCI WE WISE – Women in Innovation, Science & Entrepreneurship. A global initiative, BRICS CCI WE WISE is aimed at bringing together ecosystem partners to create a collaborative platform for enabling women to take a leadership position in technology especially new age technologies like AI with a focus on creating a sustainable global economy. WISE was launched during the ongoing BRICS Women Business Alliance Annual Plenary Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. BRICS CCI WE also entered into an MoU with the WBA Brazilian Chapter to promote sustainable economic development for women and achieving gender equity.

The WISE platform is built on three core pillars – Innovation & Collaboration, Access to Funding and Policy Advocacy, forming a strong foundation to empower women in technology and enterprise aimed at advancing the cause of inclusive innovation and gender equity. It aims to bring together mentors, experts and innovators from around the world, to build a knowledge repository and a collaborative community that uplifts women through mentorship, policy advocacy, funding access and strategic partnerships, fostering inclusive economic growth and sustainable innovation, across the BRICS+ nations.

The Global Advisory Board of WISE includes Amb. Sanjay Bhattacharyya (Retd.), Former BRICS Sherpa and Secretary to Govt. of India; Ms. Monica Monteiro, Chairperson, BRICS WBA Brazilian Chapter; Ms. Lebogang Zulu, Chairperson, BRICS WBA South Africa, Dr. BBL Madhukar, Director General BRICS CCI, Ms. Ruby Sinha, President, BRICS CCI WE, Mr. Sanjeeva Shivesh, Co-founder, Think Startup and Ms. Monica Maghami, Regulatory, AI, Tech & Sustainability Lawyer. Partner organisations include names like Mulheres Inspiradoras, SKOLKOVO Women’s Forum sheatwork, FORE Centre for Political Leadership and Governance (FCPLG) and others.
