HFCL’s Jitendra Singh Chaudhary elected as TEPC Chairman

Executive President at HFCL to lead India’s apex body for telecom equipment and services exports

The Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC), the apex body constituted to promote and develop India’s telecom equipment and services exports, has elected Mr. Jitendra Singh Chaudhary, Executive President, HFCL Limited, as its Chairman.

The election places an HFCL leader at the head of the national council responsible for advancing India’s telecom export agenda, shaping market access strategy, and representing the sector in policy dialogue with government. Mr. Chaudhary was earlier elected to the TEPC Governing Council, representing the category of export houses, trading houses and star trading houses under India’s Foreign Trade Policy.

Mr. Jitendra Singh Chaudhary said, “I am honoured and grateful for the trust placed in me as Chairman of TEPC. Network infrastructure is fast becoming a question of sovereignty, far beyond just supply. We have been building that infrastructure on the ground for years, and that is the perspective we bring to this role: what it actually takes for Indian telecom to compete globally. A country that controls its own networks controls its own data and decisions. Together with Government and industry, we will expand global market access, accelerate exports and take India-engineered technology to the world. We aren’t just securing our own future. We are establishing India as a trusted global technology leader.”

TEPC works across policy advocacy, international market development and trade facilitation for Indian telecom equipment manufacturers and service exporters, serving as the interface between the industry and government on export policy.

The leadership change comes as India moves to expand its share of global telecom equipment and services trade, supported by domestic manufacturing policy and a growing base of indigenous telecom technology. The council has signalled its focus on strengthening indigenous telecom capability, widening global market opportunities and accelerating export growth for Indian-made telecom equipment and services. Priorities under the new leadership are expected to include improving market access for Indian exporters, deepening engagement with government on trade facilitation, and positioning India-engineered telecom technology in international markets.
