India’s Semiconductor Ecosystem Evolving Steadily, Says MediaTek India MD
India’s semiconductor ecosystem is evolving steadily, supported by policy initiatives, technological advancements and a growing emphasis on innovation and talent development, according to Anku Jain, Managing Director, MediaTek India.
Jain said India already contributes nearly 20 per cent of the global talent pool for fabless chip design, providing a strong foundation for the country to expand its capabilities in semiconductor technology.

“India’s semiconductor ecosystem has been evolving steadily, supported by policy initiatives, technological advancements and a growing focus on innovation and talent development,” Jain said.
He highlighted the role of the India Semiconductor Mission 2.0 in strengthening the country’s semiconductor ambitions by promoting a more integrated ecosystem spanning chip design, research and development, intellectual property and talent.
According to Jain, the continued development of these capabilities could help India deepen its participation in the global semiconductor landscape while creating new opportunities for technology innovation.
“India Semiconductor Mission 2.0 further strengthens this direction by encouraging a more integrated ecosystem focused on chip design, research and development, intellectual property and talent,” he said.
Jain added that these developments could enable India to expand its role in the global semiconductor value chain and support the growth of domestic technology capabilities.
